Another concern if educational funding cuts are imposed:

Even if you don't have children in public schools, consider this: your municipal property taxes pay for the teachers, the administrators, custodians, utilities (heat/air conditioning/electricity), chromebooks for each student, upkeep and repair of the school buildings, supplies, hot lunches, free breakfasts, and much more.

And if federal funding is diminished or nonexistent, the bills don't go away. That's right. Your property taxes are going to rise to fill in the gap. And if you're renting, your rent will go up to reimburse your landlord's higher property taxes.

And forget about building any new schools during the Trump Administration.

And one more thing: if your city or state is amenable to school vouchers, that's more money siphoned from the annual school budget. Higher than high property taxes to make up the difference.

Schools in Michigan are primarily funded by sales taxes, not property taxes. n/t MichMan Jan 16 #2

We've never received a proportional amount to what we pay in - so on our own anyways.

Its states that don't have home funding by taxing their wealthy and corporations that are in trouble here.
