IMO, They should all live short and miserable lives, with reputations that are appropriate to their deeds, and not protected by the misguided scapegoating of Garland.

There was no ambiguity who the sociopath was, and they still voted for him.

The country will be paying dearly for this.

(12,309 posts)He failed at what should have been his top priority - making sure Trump was persecuted to the fullest extent of the law. There was no greater duty for someone in his shoes.
Of course, that didnt happen. Im glad some of the rioters have experienced some fleeting justice. But Trump should have never gotten close to ever being president again.
Its too late now to do anything about it.

(11 posts)Or who wrote it, but the writer opined that Garland is at heart and by temperament a judge, so putting him in a prosecutorial position was not the best fit. Too bad the rule of law has to suffer for it.

(25,798 posts)Mueller, under Barr, indicted or got guilty pleas from:
George Popadopoulas
Paul Manafort
Rick Gates
Michael Flynn
13 Russian Nationals
3 Russian companies
Richard Pinedo
Alex van der Zwaan
Konstantin Kilimnik
12 Russian GRU officers
Michael Cohen
Roger Stone
Sam Patten
Mueller also teed up prosecutions of Trump;
Obstruction of justice
"individual one"
The only reason that Mueller did not indict Trump was because he was a sitting president.
Bye the by, when is Garland going to release the entire Mueller report? How about the Smith reports?

(2,513 posts)That Donald Trump was never detained and interrogated for allegedly having high level, top secret documents at his personal residence while foreign nationals and known spies visited said residence, but Joe Biden and Mike Pence were "forced" to submit to interviews over the retention of a few PDB's.
If that doesn't sum up the bizarro world we just lived in, I don't know what does.

(25,798 posts)What I bitched about was Garland's pyramid strategy, to only go after unwashed Magats. How the fuck did that work out?
It wasn't just Garland's failure to go after TSF, there were plenty of other people who were never president who Garland could have investigated and prosecuted.
The J6 committee even sent Garland criminal referrals for Ken Chesebro and Mark Meadows and Garland shit canned them.
Garland took Scott Perry's phone and made a big deal out of it, then gave it back to him and Perry started investigating the FBI.
The people in Trump's inner circle who Garland could have sent to prison are now big shots in Trump's administration.
If Garland knew that the Supreme Court was going to protect Trump, that makes him complicit. There are crimes that Jack Smith can prosecute "candidate Trump" for but time ran out.

It's so great that we didn't rush these things, or Trump might have escaped accountability.

(64,472 posts)Yeah, an insurrectionist traitor rapist racist bigoted felon will avoid any and all real accountability for any of his crimes, but Garland maintained his pointless charade of meaningless neutrality, so justice is served.
gab13by13
(25,798 posts)I asked the question that was never answered sufficiently, who was Garland speaking to? Democrats weren't committing crimes.
Garland told Magats he would not be partisan against them and boy, he wasn't, he was partisan against America.
He steadfastly clutched his pearls that were gifted to him by Susan Collins no doubt.

(25,798 posts)Hur trashed President Biden and Garland released the entire report.
Joe was furious at Garland and his White House counsel sent Garland a blistering letter condemning Garland's release of lies.
That argument that we can't bash Garland because Joe appointed him has seen its better days.
Kaleva
(38,779 posts)Maybe you feel Biden shouldn't be held accountable for that. That the buck doesn't stop with Biden .
If one bashes Garland, then one must also bash Biden.
