Dems need a visible candidate now for 2028, maybe even do rallies

We need a person, as soon as possible, to be the voice of reason as Trump takes this country down the proverbial drain.

We need to start now so people will have someone to compare and contrast as Trump ruins the country.

Democrats need to change their brand to a party of fighters and not pushovers.

Then any decent candidate can easily win.

The need for a dedicated office within the Democratic Party to be a national voice has been suggested and can be accomplished.

I think Chris Murphy and others are pressing for this.

No Thank You.

I think it would be better to have many Dem voices speaking out against the harms of the second Trump administration, and let the spotlight shine on Trump and his lackeys.

Of course Newsom will be highly visible as the governor of the biggest state, and his state’s resistance will be critical in buoying the resistance of other states, and supporting the spirits of Dems in red states.

But that doesn’t mean we need to “pick” just one spokesperson. The midterms will be here soon enough, and after that, we’re off to the races for the primaries.

The chaos and damage of Trump 2.0 should be the focus of the next two years, not who the Democratic “chosen one” Will be.

about burnout starting the conversation 4 years ahead of time. DU loves politics, the average citizen does not.

A select group of strong Democratic fighters need to have a unified coordinated message of resistance, all on the same page, fighting back aggressively every day, 24/7, no days off, after every outrage, confronting every lie or insanity, on as much media as possible. They need to constantly be on network and cable news, radio, political talk shows, late night TV, holding rallies, making speeches and doing press conferences and protests from the steps of the Capitol and in front of the White House. The public will then become familiar with this group, many being potential 2028 candidates, so when the primaries come around, the public will see who is fighting for them and may the best person win. I think we all have a good idea already who this group would be composed of, there are many, but they need to stay on the same message, loud and clear. It should begin TODAY!

There is no reason to burn out a viable candidate. But a spokesperson could work. Or actively building up the profiles of several people.
