Serious question - why aren't churches called out more for their vileness?

Churches are saying, doing and getting away with the most vile, rotten and evil shit possible. They've gone all in on American fascism, they're twisting and re-writing history to certify some weird cult beliefs that never existed. And they're getting away with it. It's not just the Catholic church either. It's megachurches - churches with 10,000, 20,000+ members.

Like take for instance here in California - two of the most prominent psychotic religious shit stirrers are Sean Feucht and Jack Hibbs, and these guys have got away with some truly evil shit. And they are all in on their support for Orange Fuckhead, even preaching out in the open how much they love fascism and authoritarianism. There's also guys all over the country worse than those two. But what's totally infuriating is that nobody calls them out on it. It's totally insane that our media is treating any of this as normal.

2. Not sure how we stop it unless they are tied to a bombing, etc. But, yeah, it's concerning how far they go.

They own property and hire employees, yet are not taxed.
They are businesses and should, of course, be taxed just like any other businesses.

7. Taxation won't make much difference. They'll just make sure to pay out more than they take in, thus little or no tax.

Plus, they'll break out political -- taxable if there is anything to tax -- and church related activities, further reducing any taxes due.

Besides, I'm glad the churches in the South were able to push for equality, etc., 60 plus years ago.

Politics and religion use each other to gain power and wealth.

because they are the majority of Christians in America today. It wasn't just the Evangelicals, either. 63% of Protestant Christians and 59% of Catholic Christians voted for Trump in 2024.

6. Because the cost to monitor and litigate what is or isn't political speech in a religious institution

is never going to outweigh the potential benefits.

One of many examples of behaviour that is clearly wrong but which will never be prosecuted or penalised as long as sufficiently shameless people are content to flood the zone with it.

10. You might expect Christian leaders who don't agree with the vileness

to be leaping up to publicly call their vile colleagues out publicly, by name, to insist that they're doing Christianity wrong, and tell them they should be ashamed of the vile things they say in the name of the faith. However, we don't ever really see that, do we? I wonder why that is.
