MAHER immediately went on the attack, "I hope you're not from the STUPID WOKE (outlook) " to which CRYER said (paraphrase), I sort of am. And for much of the duration MAHER was dismissive, fairly much implying that he thought CRYER was an indoctrinated-by-MSNBC Woke Lib wimp who needed to "look in the mirror" about losing the election. He slung the Woke thing the whole circus, and repeated that the two of them had "never crossed paths" because he was on the Charlie SHEEN side of personality. He got much more than he bargained for, since CRYER is on top of being informed, was extremely pleasant throughout while calling MAHER out on his MAGA talking points. MAHER tried "schooling" Jane FONDA the same way a couple of weeks ago and was similarly knocked back all the way with a smile.
Near the end MAHER threw in part of the towel, "Look, we both voted the same way, for the same party (yet) we disagree..."

Jon Cryer Issues a Bold Political Opinion Ahead of Donald Trump's Second Term as President
As seen in a video obtained by TMZ, the Two and a Half Men star was asked by reporters about his thoughts on Trump's upcoming term in office, which Cryer believes is already off to a bad start.
"It's a clown show already," the actor boldly asserted.
He went on to say, "[Trump] did this once before. He was terrible at it the first time. It's not gonna get better."
"So it's just about everybody hunkering down, trying to make sure the people we love don't get hurt," the Pretty in Pink star added. "Let's hold this guy accountable at some point in his life."

(6,092 posts)It's bad enough that he laughs at his own jokes. But it's beyond pathetic how he uses hired shills in his audience every show to whoop and yelp after every single lame joke he delivers. Who does that? That makes the whole sad display completely unwatchable to me.
He's a no-talent hack with overblown delusions of self-importance.

(186 posts)His 15 minutes of fame is up. I used to watch because I was interested in seeing both sides of an argument; usually the other side had no argument; but now it is just one tired diatribe each time. Also lately he has had republicans on that I would not stay in the same room with. Especially that dufus Brian Donalds
I only listened to the club random podcast a few times. Boring.

Seriously, why would I want to see another high road video?

(72,988 posts)I answer when questions seem sincere, so here goes. CRYER's returns of serves were worthy of what many DUers could perform, given our familiarity with clear-eyed facts and calling out wingnut b.s.
A constant gripe here is about posts without context. I'll take pride that I almost always provide context, and consider it a voluntary service, sometimes varying in length because of circumstances. But none of my or anybody's posts oblige others to be enticed to delve into them. Not that anybody should know or care about my peeves, but fyi I've often griped about posters who find it necessary to pronounce their displeasure about thread topics, sabotaging frivolously instead of finding any of the thousands of threads readily accessible to their liking.
I've also beefed when posters demand that everything be served up on a silver platter without their slightest effort to Google or look for a definition or being oblivious to what the topic is when the references have been widespread in current news and on the board.
I have no idea what a "high road video" is or that "another" means it's of such vexing frequency.
If somebody isn't enticed enough, it's up to them, it' not my job, and it's preferable that they skip on by without dumping on the thread that whatever few might like.

(48,781 posts)What I meant by a high road video, means that after Maher trashes us, the heroic response from the Dems is to take the high road.
I am saying that I've run out of patience with that approach. It's beginning to sound like we just aren't clever or brave enough to put them in their place.
Again, I apologize.

(72,988 posts)Let's blame the internet for not conveying the tone enough. Your gracious response would lead me to delete my diatribe, but maybe some of my real tormentors will find it.
P.S., CRYER didn't cave one bit, punched back every time, just did it with class and smiles.

(48,781 posts)Something new I'm going through. I am constantly perusing news sources and have been hooked into too many videos which often take way too long to get to the point, so maybe I should have just backed away instead of commenting. My bad.
