11. Of course this is why I like THE Irish Dem.

Based on my alma mater.

I will never forget what happened to me the first quarter of my PhD program at OSU.

I wrote a generic paper about my career goals in an intro class.

The professor gave me an A for the paper, but crossed out the A and gave me a B- instead.
And wrote a note that I got the lowered grade because I had used the words "Ohio State University"
without "THE" in front of it.

I was shocked and angry at first, but realized I had entered a new reality
and I better get with the red and gray program pronto.

That professor btw went on to do some great things with her career.

I feel like I earned THE in front of my name the hard way.

Quite a few people in my family are OSU grads too.
My BA and MS were from other schools, but my PhD is from OSU.
I love that campus. Very rigorous programs but you know your stuff when you graduate.
