Trump and the Republicans are going to make inflation worse.

The immediate effect of any tariffs is a raise in prices. The immediate effect of the mass deportations is a shortage of labor in the types of jobs that most US citizens don't want to do which would result in a raise in prices. How much money would it take for any of us to work in a meat packing plant. The Republicans think that any positive results from these policies will be immediate, but even if there is any, it will be delayed because the economy has to adjust. If they put the economy into a recession, it will take even longer. There are things that they could do to help people during the adjustment time, but they aren't smart enough for that. Ironically this is the main reason that Trump was elected.

The Harris campaign, Robert Reich and dozens of other Nobel Prize-winning and other top economists, and numerous others have been pointing it out ever since Dementia Donald started spewing on about tariffs. That's what is the most galling about this. We were all told this would happen, yet many treated it like it was just the Dems being all hysterical. But, now a warning from the "I live under a rock" crowd? SMGDH.

Democrats in power - economy gets repaired. Republicans lie their way back into power and cut taxes and run up the deficit. The perfect recipe for or inflation.

16. That's why we need to get back to creating our own media organizations.

And once we have them, we need to both fund them and support them. The lack of both of those elements is largely what sunk Air America Radio so many years ago.

...the most important thing is that these networks must be supported by both the listeners and the Democratic party. That needs to be seen as an ongoing investment for many years. How long did it take for Fox News to become profitable? And how long did Rush Limbaugh "suck wind in Sacramento", as Randi Rhodes put it? (Her answer: 15 years!)...

Mexico is now working with trump, so is Canada. According to trump they won't get tariffs if they comply. I don't know about China

tRump wants fighting in the streets. He needs a reason to implement martial law. If he can convince the people that "illegals" are terrorists. While highlighting the few bad acts of terror, then his flock will beg for martial law. Once that is enacted the rest will be history.

If things go as horrible as we predict, what would stop tRump from declaring martial law?

Then he becomes dictator

and it won't take that long. They gotta be fast lest we have time to do something to stop them. Pretty sure that is why Trump told Moses Mike he wants one big, all inclusive piece of policy legislation to cover all they want done. Doesn't want us to have time to read it all and respond, but it seems likely it's all in their Project 2025.

I bet ol Newt 'Contract for America' (AKA Contract ON America) Gingrich is slapping himself on the forehead for not thinking of all this way back in the 90s.

We have to take his winnningest campaign planks (that he knew he and the goofball GOP House could never deliver on) and metaphorically beat him about the head and body with them. He doesn't want to remove the debt ceiling because he plans on really balancing the budget or reduce the national debt! Where is the national debt reduction plan Donnie? Why do you want to remove the debt ceiling if you are going to balance the budget Day One Donnie? Don't chase Greenland, Panama Canal and his other smoke and mirrors bull.

15. Substantial tariffs on China will cause every retail business hardships.
Sun Jan 5, 2025, 01:29 PM

From Target to Walmart, from Macy's to Bloomingdale's.From Home Depot to Lowe's. Even Amazon will get hit.

Every retailer gets products made in China. A lot of the fabrics I buy for Custom orders are milled in China, come from India, Lithuania, Denmark, etc. My customers will not be happy at all.

Expect shipping costs to skyrocket as well. Business in this country will hurt BIG TIME all under tRump's watch. MAGAts in Congress will scatter like cockroaches when the light shines on what they have done to destroy the Economic fabric of this country.

17. Trump directly caused much of the first wave of inflation
Sun Jan 5, 2025, 01:37 PM
Sunday

He had tariffs, printed money Ike crazy, gave covid money away, and had forgivable coivd loans. All of which flooded the market with $$$$ at a time when supply chains were strained. While the inflation was worldwide, it was also because many countries did the same thing. But Biden took all the blame for Covid and inflation. Which is insane.
