The Chinese government officially opposes both tendencies. The private enterprise sector is less regulated and the government has both corruption problems and disincentives/conflicts over enforcement. Their social credit system is likely being used to suppress Lying Flat.

Now reflect on labor conditions in the USA. Shit ain’t good here either.
