2. The choir just finished singing the Navy Hymn. Amazing how music can take us

away to somewhere else. My mind snapped instantly to JFK's funeral. That hymn was played every day for three days during the various services. It's so beautiful and woefully melancholy.

Sen Robert Kennedy’s funeral train passed by Philadelphia a whole group of African-Americans stood by the tracks and sang "The Battle Hymn".

Sort of an echo to your memory.

Casket was carried out of St. Patrick's.

I didn't hear that bc I was actually w my dad down on 34th near 8th Ave to watch the funeral procession go to Pen Station, and the train.

I'd been so devastated, and not sleeping so well bc I was listening to a then talk radio host late at night who'd been a supporter of JFK, and RFK when he ran. He had a lot of their people on w him.

So my mom said - you're not going unless your father goes with you.

The music is so moving. I hope President Carter is watching and approves.
