We Literally Just Want Health Care (meme image)

If we were a sane, and educated country, memes like this would make no sense

Sadly, they make all too much sense

One reply:

Healthcare should be universal, affordable, and quality. That's always my goal as a provider. We need systemic changes, starting with who pays for services and how it's paid. Insurance companies shouldn't be the end all of the care people get.

1. People no longer vote for what they want. They vote for what they think the other side doesn't want.

This is what people want. Not foolish trips to Mars and space stations.

Experience profound sickness. So, like a Disney cruise with an even greater chance of horrific death. Hope a lot of rich people stay there.

Subsidized housing -- in orbit ! -- for me, but none for thee.

Other than solar power, there are no resources available in orbit. Every single thing used there must be transported from somewhere else at high cost, especially if brought up from the deep gravity well of Earth.

A means of supporting oneself and one’s family is required . It can be from wages, a guaranteed minimum income, investment income, business income, including self-employment, It requires safety-netting.

A country with the natural resourced of the U.S. and the combined talents, skills, energy and creativity of all of us, should not be experiencing the poverty and inequality we are experiencing.

We have and have had a subset of bad actors in our country who believe that they alone are entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and that the rest of us must allow them unfettered freedom to amass fortunes no matter what the cost to the rest of us and to our children and our planet.

The are not the creators or visionaries they claim to be, just antisocial exploiters who are able to amass wealth and power because they are not restrained, like the rest of us, by ethics, law, or sense of justice, fairness, common decency, or love other living beings.

This is the first I've heard of this hotel. Absolutely appalling.

Edit to add this from what I found on Wikipedia, bolding mine...

It is proposed that the SpaceX Starship could be used to shuttle space tourists to the Voyager Station, which would accommodate 280 guests and 112 crew members. The cost of a trip to the station has not been officially published, but some estimates are that it would be approximately US$5 million, and would require the passengers to undergo safety and physical training before boarding the shuttle for a 3+1⁄2 day trip to the space station.[3] The cost of the space station has been estimated to be in the "tens of billions".
