Looming Isis threat? Per MSNBC topic of discussion.
I'm sorry, but I'm more concerned with our looming domestic threat. Both attacks on our country were at the hands of American men with one commonality, our U.S. military. Two different ideologies but the same goal and outcome.
Of course, per the media, you wouldn't know it, but the white guy in Las Vegas was a terrorist too, not just a guy committing suicide. Just read what he's written about purging the Democrats in D.C.. I would consider him no different than a vest wearing suicide bomber dying for what he believed in. But, he had a better chance of being stopped had the people that cared about him and knew him been able to intervene and gotten him mental help. I don't blame them. At which point do you differentiate a person exercising their protected free speech rhetoric from a radical suicide bomber.
My larger point is that I'm more concerned about where these guys were trained and allowed to grow their hatred. That's where my concern lies. Our military branches are not democratically run institutions. Somebody had to have known their radicalization and said and did nothing?
With the new administration I'm more concerned with our own military than Isis. Don't get me wrong I love and honor our service members. I appreciate their sacrifices and those of their families. I would have felt the same about these two suicide bombers on 12/31/24. The point is, it's in our military's best interest to recruit and retain members that are willing to train and run into the fire and fight, no questions asked.
All that is needed is a Michael Flynn type of leader to screen for and organize the "true believers" into a force to be reckoned with. Who is to stop them. It's no different than a crooked sheriff in a small town with corrupt politicians, but on a larger scale.
The media is not doing us any favors when they downplay the domestic terrorists.
