A minimal act of resistance to the fascist regime: Get Off Shitter. (aka X, aka Twitter.)

Is this really too much to ask?

Consider why the fascists are good at using boycotts to get results. Perhaps because they actually boycott? Just a thought.

If you need instant news fixes try BlueSky.
What you won't get there is an endless stream of what Elon Musk wants you to see. In fact you are mostly in control of what shows up on your screen.

Just go silent.
You need to hold on to your account so others don't swoop in and start using your name.

We do it as a group. It works because I'm with several advocacy groups. (Moms Demand Action and Texans for Public Education to name a few) If you don't think they aren't checking their twitter feeds while they are voting, think again. We've gotten a few to change their votes.

I also subscribe to Armenian Action Alerts and they tag my congressman. Because of all the tagging I did, my congressman voted to support Armenian causes and is now rated A by the Armenian National Committee and has even appeared in an article about Armenians. (Pretty good for a Latino, who has almost no Armenians living in his district)

Until Bluesky replaces all of this, I will keep my shitter account open....

I consider my direct action also a form of resistance.

I am going to officially delete my account on Jan. 20th (as are others, from what I have read).

BlueSky has exceeded my expectations (there is a bot problem, but there will always be a bot problem when it comes to social media... I just use the block function liberally).

I don't spend time on twitter, but I do use it. So I'm still on.

I will probably dump twitter when more people that I follow get on BlueSky. Right now, you need a twitter account just to be able to see tweets. I access too much media and too many elected officials etc who aren't on BlueSky. Even here on DU you can't see tweets if you don't have an account etc. Also twitter is still the best for breaking news. The media love twitter because it's so easy, but BlueSky is basically the same. I hope it will catch on.

13. Dumping Fox from entertainment subscriptions too.

If Fox is bundled, then dump the bundle. Paying for Fox is essentially funding the GOP.

Plenty of TV with a simple antenna in most areas. And don't whine about OTA not having enough "sports", as OTA is saturated with sports crap.

Good riddance...

But for the record, in spite of all their bluster the Trumpers never effectively "boycott" anything besides the entities they never partake in anyways (i.e., NPR or something).

I'm still waiting to see the grand results of their boycott against the NFL and Disney... Last I checked they were doing fine.

Try as I may; those algorithms still managed to filter in content which did not align with my worldview. Took me long enough I suppose; however it was generally fly fishing related content anyhow.

The greater part point being I refuse to support and engage those who align against the greater good; donating millions to TSF hardly accomplishes any good.

I’m considering BlueSky; however I’m enjoying the social media hiatus at the moment…

Dems leaving Twitter probably added to our loss. You have 100 million Americans on Twitter - mostly ages 18 to 45 and you guys think it’s great not to influence them -it’s like handing 100 million Americans to the Republicans - because you don’t like Musk.

Many feel Dems lost because they underestimated social media and the rise of podcasts.

It is no one who will be influenced by the left. Pure maggots looking for a fight. If you disagree with them, they will dox you and come after you. These are folks you cannot reason with. They go with their reptile brain.
