WILL THE REAL SEXUAL PREDATORS PLEASE STAND UP
This site was set up to allow public access to and easy verification of the data that goes into my TikTok series, Who's Making News for Sex Crimes Involving Children. This research project aggregates and analyzes news reports published about sexual assaults on children in the United States, and is designed to be fully verifiable. You can check the data by downloading the full database - just click the Source Data tab.
Here is the data summary from the 10885 cases in the database. The cases in the database run from February 10, 2023 through May 23, 2024

(1,197 posts)No victim of pedophilia gives a damn about the party affiliation of the monster who violated their innocence. No parent of a victim of pedophilia gives a damn about the party affiliation of the creep who physically and psychologically hurt their child. No extended family who ever had to deal with this issue gives a damn about the party affiliation of the human garbage who committed a crime that, in many ways, is worse than murder. It is a shameful thing to politicize this issue - Especially when neither party is doing nearly enough to prevent these crimes in the first place and to ramp up the sentencing for those who commit these crimes (And yes, pedophiles DO deserve the death sentence).

(1) It is not your fault. You almost certainly have heard this already.
(2) You are no less a person because of what happened. You survived to help others and for this you have a purpose.

(1,197 posts)Hopefully, we as a society can do a better job of making the care you provide more accessible. Many years ago, it came to my attention that Kaiser only provided for 30 therapy sessions per year. At the time, I remember thinking that 52 sessions per year would be more appropriate. Perhaps this number has changed.

(2,415 posts)point fingers at democrats and LGBTQ, etc., and accuse us of perversion actually predominate in the statistics as percentage of pedophiles who identify as republican. It is absolutely appropriate because it's NOT EVEN CLOSE. We all know what a bunch of repressed twisted disgusting and excrable people predominate in the R party. And your argument is a straw man btw.

Republicans in general care less about people than Democrats. Just look at their agendas.
Republicans are all in as "God fearing Christians", but that's not how they act. Actions always speak louder than words.
It's not so much about the party, as it is about the kind of people who are attracted to the party.
This isn't about the politics, it's about the people who think in a certain way when it comes to politics.
Republicans are pro-life? Only until the baby is born. Pedophilia is just another indicator of the BS of their political position.
Insensitive? I don't think so.

Keep in mind that in California Democrats have, for years, held a supermajority in the state legislature, which is to say that the following can be changed:
5 years in state prison for the crime of incest? 8 years? 10 years? A $10,000 fine? This from California Penal Code Section 288...
https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?sectionNum=288.&lawCode=PEN
1 year in county jail for the crime of molesting a minor? 2 years in state prison? 4 years? 6 years? A $5,000 fine? This from California Penal Code Section 647.6...
https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?sectionNum=647.6.&lawCode=PEN
Does any of this sound satisfactory to you? Politicizing the crimes of molestation and incest to suggest that one side cares "more" or "less" only lays bare that neither side is doing the universally RIGHT thing to do.

(51,471 posts)It is remarkably insensitive to pretend as you do that society has no interest or claim or cause to investigate the causes of it and to prevent it (which comes from understanding). Yes, grieving family members might not care, but that is no reason to block and censor and object to this information. Yes, more could be done, but the perfect is the enemy of the good.
In passing, the death penalty would do nothing to deter pedophiles who are not already deterred by years in prisons filled with violent pedophile haters.
It is also remarkably insensitive to write off the hypocrisy of Republicons on this issue; especially the way they pretend it is only a Democratic issue or throw in firebombs against 2SLGBTQ+. Fighting that hypocrisy helps 2SLGBTQ+ people, who need support and help against the incoming authoritarian con christo-fascist government which, you should know, is Republican.
Have you been coccooned so that you have not seen or heard or read of the maga fabrications against Biden?

(211 posts)NOT ONLY ARE REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS MORE LIKELY TO COMMIT HENIOUS SEXUALLY VIOLENT CRIMES ACCORDING TO THIS DATA
THE CURRENT HEAD OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY--DONALD JOHN TRUMP-- HAS BEEN ADJUCATED BY THE COURTS AS ONE WHO ENGAGAED IN SUCH
MULTIPLE MEMBERS OF HIS CABINET HAVE BEEN ACCUSED OF HEINOUS SEX CRIMES--NOT ONE BUT MULTIPLE
AND
TO TOP IT OFF ALL OF THESE PEOPLE ARE AGAINST HELPING WOMEN AFFECTED OR VICITIMIZED BY SUCH...LOCKING OFF ACCESS TO ABORTIONS IN THE CASES OF RAPE AND OR INCEST....THAT IN MY DEFINITION IS WHERE THE WORD INSENSITIVE COMES IN..NOT BOTHSIDES ETC ETC....TO MAKE MATTERS WORST IN THE LAST 5 YEARS THE REPUBLICAN ELECTORATE ELECTED AT LEAST 2 POLITICIANS WHO KNOWNILY COMMITED INCEST ON THEIR OWN KIDS--A ROBERT SOMETHING IN KANSAS/MISSOURI WHO WAS ALLOWED TO RUN THEN THE PARTY FORCED HIM TO RESIGN AFTER PUBLIC OUTCRY AND THERE WAS SOMEONE ELSE THIS PAST ELECTION
...THIS KEEPS HAPPENING...---
Missouri House expels Rick Roeber, a Republican accused of sexually abusing his children
Koskan gets 10 years in prison on incest charges
PROBABLY IF THE VOTING PUBLIC PAID MORE ATTENTION THE WHITE HUSE WOULD NOT HAVE AN ADJUCATED RAPIST AS ITS NEXT OCCUPANT--IMAGINE HAVING TO LOOK AT SOMEONE LIKE THAT EVERYDAY AFTER ONE HAS BEEN SECUALLY ABUSED---IN MY OPINION THAT IS INSENSITIVE

(512 posts)Well researched facts are fundamental to reality-based debate and governance. I know MAGAs and even many other Republicans are unwilling to engage in reality-based debate or governance, but I keep faith in people independently rediscovering the benefits of the scientific method...I mean, it happened once before.
Governing without the relevant statistics tends to result in a lot of "Something must be done about this problem...this is something, so let's do it," without regard for whether "this" addresses a significant part -- or even any -- of the stated problem.

I'm not sure the sample is big enough to make that strong a generalization, but the data says what it says.
It's interesting to note that the state with the highest per capita number of cases in South Dakota, and the state with the lowest per capita cases in Delaware.

Im bookmarking your site very fascinating. In California we have to take an online class every couple of years to identify if kids are being abused in anyway and report it and maybe its one of the reason we are lower down the list as opposed to red state magaloons.
