Donald Trump won Nassau County by nearly five percentage points: 51.3% to 47.5%.

Bruce Blakeman: "Worst Person in the World" as Keith Olbermann would say.

6. I lived in Nassau County for over 20 years

Congressman Suozzi was the mayor of our town then the County Executive. He was impressive in those jobs but his middle-of-the-road attitude of late is dispiriting. I get it, he serves in a marginal district, (the seat had been Suozzi’s then George Santos won the seat for one term before being kicked out of Congress).

However, the Republicans who held the Executive position really suck. Two term Mangano was convicted of felonies! And this guy is a real piece of GOP garbage.

Frankly, Long Island is horrible in many ways. It is densely over crowded and traffic everywhere overwhelms the roadways. The local taxes are among the highest in the country. Property values are extremely high and out of reach for younger buyers. Many of the school systems are deficient. The politics mostly tends rightwards.

Two highlights of LI are the waterfront- beautiful beaches/boating/fishing- and plentiful reasonably priced public golf. Otherwise, I’m very happy I moved out of there!

As well as what is probably the tallest flagpole in the county (172 ft.) at the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point.
