Former National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien explained President-elect Donald Trump's plan to "extract the minerals and oil" from Greenland by making the territory "part of Alaska."
"I mean, the native people in Greenland are very closely related to the people of Alaska, and we'll make it a part of Alaska," he claimed. "So we're going to either buy it, or they're going to defend it, or they can pay us to defend it."

(17,594 posts)Yes, technically ~90% of the population is inuit, but racial mixing has been going on for so long the populated areas are much more european in appearance.
Like alaska, native tribes do exist, but have been marginalized.
But there are only about 60k people in the whole country, so its splitting hairs.
My guess he has greenland confused with iceland. He is an idiot so its likely.

(60,177 posts)Do you have another more accurate flight time?
rsdsharp
(10,337 posts)That would be an average of about 175 miles per hour. It took me 24 hours to get to Hong Kong, but it was three flights and two layovers.

(6,639 posts)The great benefit of Trump as Putins puppet is that we are beginning to see that Mexico has a strong female leader and is advancing economically, socially and on the world stage.
Canada is looking good and Panama is also. We are finally being confronted we the reality of our weaknesses and maybe this is the necessary step in moving forward.

(187,633 posts)Agreeing with O'Brien, Chaffetz complained that "the people of Tennessee have to pay for everybody's defense around the world, whether it's the Panama Canal or Greenland."
