that ex cop who made his sons sleep on wet cold garage floor for 16hrs on cold night , gets 25 years

he got the max sentence. Wife is waiting for her trial.
case got a lot of coverage. locking in the cold garage was a typical punishment he handed out
.

Thomas Valva and his older brother Anthony had spent 16 hours in that garage with no heat, no bathroom access, no mattress and no blankets on a night when the temperature outside plunged, according to prosecutors. Thomas Valva woke up on the cement floor, had an accident and soiled his pants.

Home surveillance camera evidence submitted at trial showed his father screaming at him, threatening him and ordering him outside in the subfreezing temperatures to hose him down with water. Thomas Valva lost consciousness and fell face first, several times, into the backyard concrete paver patio. Prosecutors say his father delayed calling 911 for at least an hour. By the time his son got to the hospital his body temperature was 76.1 degrees.

He died as a result of complications from hypothermia.

They look for sociopaths because in the fucked up sociopath cops mind claims without evidence that the hire his emotions will hamper him from doing the job.

But a cop without empathy or compassion
Is a menace.
Cops exist to protect well off peoples property. They could care less about people so they hire thier own kind, sociopaths, abusers.

How many former cops could survive 25 years in prison? Probably none. He'll be a target from Day One.
I'm not rooting for the guy, I'm just saying that he got a fair sentence in this case.

Instead of torturing the little one to death and injuring his older brother (who survived, barely), why the hell didn't these two sickos use diapers? This isn't 1950, these poor kids had been diagnosed and help was available for them. This case is just sickening.

but divorce is always messy and there are always resentments and it's rarely fair. Plus, it sounds like the girlfriend might have played an active role, blowing fits when 2 autistic kids didn't act normal.

Abuse like stripping the kids down and hosing them off in the back yard wouldn't have shown and the kids might not have been capable of telling people what was happening to them.

They cannot take care of whatever the reason should be able to give them up with no stigma. Its better than the kids suffering abuse for years.

Yeah some people do not deserve kids or cant handle them or want to abuse them.
Imho getting a kid away from its incompetent abusive parents should be the first consideration. Fuck what abusive parents want.

Most abusive parents were abused as kids, they think that behavior is normal. In addition, the abuse doesn't always show up as bruises or broken bones. It's not as clear cut as we'd like to believe. Even kids who are verbal often think everybody is like they are and live the same way, it doesn't occur to them to tell someone.

I just hope these poor kids can heal, with or without formal therapy.
